Chapter 4 - Fifteen annuals later, as she cradled her daughter in her arms, she still didn’t know. The O.Z. deserved better. She could never be the Queen the O.Z. needed. Not after fifteen annuals of hardship, caused by her decisions. In the meantime, she would try to put back the pieces of the child she had broken. Maybe she could at least be the mother her Azkadellia needed now. Maybe she could make up for some of her failures.
Chapter 5 - It was when Cain had pulled Glitch away from Az that DG noticed the blood on the shoulder of his jacket. That had freaked her out. He’d gone and gotten shot while helping her! He’d shrugged her off and said, “Princess, war gets people shot. Least I’m not dead.” God, the man was so frustrating!

It had happened when Faith had decided to short cut across western Kansas instead of heading towards the I35 to go north. First, her bike had broken down in some small town in the middle of butt fuck nowhere. She’d gotten it fixed, but the couple days waiting had slowed her down on reaching her destination. Plus, the couple days she spent in the town were incredibly boring. There wasn’t a single vamp to stake. No demons hiding anywhere. Just one cop that she swore had to be a demon, ‘cause he sure as hell kept an eye on her – and not in a fun way. She tried to stick with just hanging out in the motel room to avoid him. Not like there’d been much else to do there though.
